Common Problems of Santa Fe
Some of the commonly encountered Santa Fe problems are discussed here.
Transmission Problems
Sometimes, the transmission system of this vehicle becomes faulty due to poor transmission shifts. This problem could occur when either the “sport” or the “drive mode is chosen, thus needing a substitution of the button in the housing of console shifter.
In other conditions, there could be hard shifts to “reverse” from “park, “mode thus needing a new gearbox control module.

Engine Stalling
Engine stalling and noise can trouble some models based on the type of installed power-plant. Some models with the 2.4-liter 4-cylinder power-plants might develop some kind of sound from the adjusters of hydraulic lash.
Concerned customers should replace them with no-noise adjusters with large sized oil holes. Misfire is a general issue faced with 2007 Santa Fe. To avoid this problem, the oxygen sensors had to be replaced.
Crankshaft Sensor Problems
In 2001 V6 equipped models, the crankshaft-position sensor had some issues. This part had to be substituted to overcome the problem.
On some automatic transmission equipped models, there were chances of a clamp keeping the battery wire getting worn out. In this case, replacement of the clamp with a new cable tie is necessary.
Front Wheel Problems
Some 2007 automobiles gave rise to a cracking sound from the wheels when the transmission was shifted to “reverse” from “drive.” This Hyundai Santa Fe problem is because of high clearance from the wheel hubs.
