The new feature to this series were sunroof and four wheel disc brakes. The 2002 model was designed based on the platform of Sonata.

Trim Levels

The vehicle  was offered in three different trim levels, namely the GL, GLS and the luxury LX models. The GLS model was powered by a V6 four cylinder engine. The model offered either the all wheel drive or the front wheel drive without low range gearing. The engine had four cylinders and offered automatic or manual transmission.

Standard Features

The standard features provided in this elegant car were traction control, right side dashboard air bags, front disc or rear drum brakes and a power sunroof.

The competitor models to this range of model were Mazda Tribute, Ford Escape and Honda CR-V. All the competitor models to the GLS model provided excellent mix of cargo capacity, versatility and drive comfort, but were lacked by the off road capability.

The model had the capacity to accommodate up to five passengers. It had the other features like leather steering wheel, dual air bag, anti lock braking, cloth trim, power mirrors, seat belt pretensioners, central locking remote control, alarm system, limited slip differential and air conditioning.
